This free to attend Taster Day is suitable for those who are interested in gaining more experience of Public Health.

Primarily for those who are interested in applying for Specialty Training in the South West, the taster day will include: 

  • Welcome and overview of North Somerset as a place, the Public Health and Regulatory Services Directorate, the Health and Wellbeing Board and Council Plan – Matt Lenny
  • Meet and greet with team members – 3 x 15 min tasters on some of the projects they are delivering in public health and regulatory services
  • Presentations led by Specialty Registrars – describing current work on a digital health programme and the development of our new Health and Wellbeing Strategy
  • Sessions led by Consultants in Public Health – to include a focus on pandemic response and current commissioning of children’s public health nursing service
  • Empowering communities programme – demonstration of how this is transforming our approach to tackling inequalities
  • Q&A opportunity

Please note that you must either attend the Programme’s Public Health as a Career Event session or watch the session online in order to sign up to attend a taster day.
