PLEASE NOTE: Due to disruptions on the trains to Exeter, the venue for this tutorial has now changed to TAUNTON (address above).

These tutorials are open to Public Health Specialty Registrars on the South West Public Health Training Programme only.

Please register for this event by completing the form at the bottom of the page.

After registering you will receive an email asking you to confirm your attendance. It is important to check your junk inbox for this message.

If you have confirmed attendance and then find you are unable to attend, it is important to inform Gemma Cooke, the Public Health School Support Manager.

Objectives of the tutorial:

  1. Learn about the range of projects that Registrars can lead on, including learning on the public health needs that these projects address.
  2. Learn about how Registrars have approached and delivered projects, including key achievements and challenges, and any project management tools that have been utilised.
  3. Gain an understanding of the organisational context within which the different projects have been delivered.
  4. Through group discussion reflect upon how projects could be approached/delivered differently, and how they could inform Registrars current and future work.

Areas to be addressed within presentations (doesn’t have to be in this order!):

  • Organisational context within which the project has been delivered i.e. organisation working for, culture, delivering project on own or as part of a team, organisational/team strengths and challenges.
  • Phase of training and learning outcomes achieved.
  • Aims and objectives of the project.
  • Key achievements and what went well.
  • Key challenges and what was lacking.
  • An assessment of any project management methods and tools used.
  • Recommendations to better deliver the project in the future i.e. what would do more of, what would do differently
